Professionals invited to national launch of child exploitation disruption guidance

Online event

A new national resource aimed at strengthening the response to child exploitation is set to be launched later this month, with professionals across sectors invited to take part in an upcoming online event.

The exploitation of children and young adults remains a complex and constantly evolving issue. Safeguarding experts emphasise that effectively protecting young people requires a two-pronged approach – providing direct safeguarding support to victims while also actively targeting and disrupting those responsible for exploitation.

Addressing both elements together is considered vital to preventing further harm and protecting other potential victims.

To support this work, The Children’s Society’s national Prevention Programme was commissioned by the Home Office to develop a self-assessment and national guidance for multi-agency partnerships focused on their collective practice to disrupt child exploitation.

The Children’s Society is now inviting professionals from across sectors to attend the official launch of the guidance and assessment framework at an upcoming online event.

The session will take place on Thursday, 26 March from 10am to 11am and is open to professionals working in strategic or operational roles related to preventing exploitation. It will also be relevant for those involved in developing policies or strategies that include exploitation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the new guidance and how it can support partnership working to better protect children and young people.
